CHARACTER NAME: Nicholas D. Wolfwood
CHARACTER AGE: 18? 20? Wolfwood’s age is complicated and never stated outright in canon. He underwent a bunch of medical experimentation in his early teens that aged him rapidly, so while he appears to be in his mid-20s, his actual age is anybody’s guess. He's at least 18 and fully an adult, though.
CANON: Trigun Stampede wiki page
CANON POINT: Post season 1. Julai has blown up, Vash is missing and presumed dead, Meryl has returned to work, and Wolfwood thinks, for the first time, that he’s free of the Eye of Michael’s control.
CRAU INFO: N/A
SUITABILITY: Wolfwood was quite literally built to be obedient to a superpowered boss, and to go on missions against ridiculously strong monsters. With the love and support of a couple close friends he could stop seeing himself as nothing more than a tool for killing, but he hasn’t made it that far yet. Right now, he still sees himself as permanently bloodstained and good for nothing more than causing pain and death. Really, the only problem with sending him up against a dangerous monster is that Wolfwood isn’t very good at ducking – he’s used to having his never-ending supply of magic potion on hand that heals any and all injuries, so with a limited supply of those vials, hopefully there’s good medical care available for the combat teams when they return.
Wolfwood will absolutely not agree with LILITH about anything, but he’s not a revolutionary. At his core he’s very practical, and very selfish – he wants to live and to hell with everyone else, and if that means following orders he disagrees with, then that’s what he’ll do. It’s what he’s done his entire life, so while he'll be rude as hell to LILITH, so long as the enemies he's sent to fight are adults (or are straight up monsters/kaiju), then he'll keep his head down and do what he's told.
This will be the second time in his life that he’s been taken away, experimented on, and sent into the field to fight. He’ll be even more antisocial (cruel, snappish, and self-isolating) than he was in canon, but deep down Wolfwood really does care for others, especially for kids and vulnerable folks. He just tends to show that care with a lot of profanity and shoving. He’ll participate in events, but under duress, and he’s going to make his bad mood everybody’s problem.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:

PERSONALITY REFERENCE: Wiki. Please note that the wiki only covers the manga and the 1998 anime. I’m playing Wolfwood from Trigun Stampede, which is the 2023 anime. It’s roughly based on the manga, and his personality is much closer to manga Wolfwood than the 98 Wolfwood, but he’s younger in Stampede than he is in the manga, and much more abrasive. Stampede Wolfwood is less cautious and less frightened of the Plants than manga Wolfwood is. There’s also a much stronger religious presence in Stampede than in the manga, and it’s much more obvious that Stampede Wolfwood is not a believer (which I'm happy to expand on if needed! I'll talk forever about this series). He’s also much more of a brat in Stampede than he is in the manga, which is most apparent in his relationship with Meryl.
POWERS & SKILLS:
• Strong: Wolfwood is stronger than the average human. He can swing his 200 pound weapon (a cross-shaped machine gun with laser and rocket launcher options called the Punisher) with just two fingers. He can jump off rooftops while under load and land without any damage, and at one point he’s part of a team of two who shove a cannon the size of a train up over their heads. He’s ridiculously strong.
• Sturdy: Wolfwood was built for combat, and that means he’s got excellent endurance for taking damage, both immediate (ie getting shot) and over time (such as walking miles and miles through the desert with no water). If he’s coming in only with the vials he’s got on hand then he’ll have a limited number of times he can survive getting fully splattered into pulp, but even without the vials he still heals extremely quickly (days instead of months for a broken bone to set, for instance), and he’s been trained to stay focused and continue fighting even when grievously injured.
• Agile: For such a strong guy, Wolfwood very limber. He’s quick and flexible, can jump long distances and land more or less lightly, runs fast, and shoots faster.
• A+ Aim: He can use any firearm, and is just as good with knives. He’s equally lethal at a sniper’s distance as in hand-to-hand combat, and he’s excellent at improvising. If you need something killed into paste, he's your guy!
